Brit Awards hopeful Ellie Goulding dazzled the crowds as she arrived at the ceremony in a princess-style gown.
She was among the early arrivals at the ceremony, staged at London's O2 Arena tonight, who also included singer Katy B who is topping the album chart with Little Red and fittingly wore a long crimson dress with gauze panels.
Other eye-catching outfits included the bright yellow floor-length gown with a plunging neckline as she trod the red carpet at the most glamorous night of the year for the UK music world.
A slimline Boy George also attracted attention with his new towering quiff and what appeared to be a graze around the left side of his face, although he is well known for his elaborate experiments with make-up.
Goulding's gown had a sculpted pink bodice with frothing white layers of netting from the waist down. She is among the nominees for the best British female solo act prize, having already collected the critics choice prize at the Brits in 2010.
Rock band Arctic Monkeys who are tipped to do well this evening arrived at the ceremony wearing smart suits in sharp contrast to some of the outfits they have adopted in previous years. In years gone by they have appeared to be dressed for a hunting party, while another year they sent acceptance speeches dressed as characters from The Wizard Of Oz and as the Village People.
Singer Lily Allen unveiled a dramatic new look with her hair tinted yellow and gathered in a ponytail, with a matching handbag, together with a black sequinned outfit.
